This is an overview of Australia's 3rd city. The magnificent early architecture, scenic vantage points, recreational venues, parks, gardens, educational & sporting facilities. The tour covers central and suburban areas with commentary on the town's history and heritage both past and present.

Weather permitting we visit some of the towns many parks, to look at the features they have to offer, such as a Macaque monkey compound, exotic floral gardens, a plant conservatory, fountains and many points of interest. Places visited include the famous Cataract Gorge and First Basin areas where a ride on the longest single span chairlift is optional (at your own cost) or just to wander and enjoy the natural features of this picturesque area. Plus The Design Centre, Inveresk cultural precinct, Windmill Hill, Trevallyn Dam, Duck Reach historic power station and suspension bridge, plus Launceston Federal Country Club Resort Casino. This is a quality tour and an excellent way to become familiar with the city and it's layout in a comfortable air-conditioned coach. Complimentary morning tea and muffin is included.

Free pick-up from accommodation in the Launceston area. Fully guided tour with driver commentary in air-conditioned and seatbelted coaches. This is an accredited tourism business.

Our tours are unique because, not only do we take you to the places you have heard about, such as Cradle Mountain and Wineglass Bay, we take you to remote, lesser known areas. Try a bit of fishing along the way, you may even catch your dinner!

A maximum of 9 passengers.

Our tours are designed for fit and active people, and include lots of bushwalks/hiking. Please bring warm and waterproof clothing (suitable for bush walking), sturdy walking shoes, swimming gear, sunscreen and a hat, water bottle, a warm sleeping bag. Children must be at least 12 and accompanied by an adult.

This 9 day active, camping tour lets you fully explore Tasmania and departs from Launceston. Itinerary for departure from Launceston: Day 1: Mole Creek Caves, Cradle Mountain (hiking/bushwalk), remote bushcamp. Day 2: Bushwalk/hike in The Tarkine (Australia's largest temperate rainforest), remote West Coast of Tasmania, bushcamp beside the Southern Ocean. Day 3: Bushwalk/hike at Montezuma Falls, Strahan, bushcamp at Ocean Beach. Day 4: Bushwalk/hike at Lake St Clair, camp at remote Highland Lake. Day 5: Various bushwalks in Mt Field National Park, The Styx Valley, arrive in Hobart (hostel accommodation included). Day 6: Free day to explore Hobart (hostel accommodation included). Day 7: Bushwalk/hike to Cape Raoul, remote area bushcamp. Day 8: Bushwalk in Freycinet National Park (Wineglass Bay), bushcamp in rainforest. Day 9: Bay of Fires, bushwalk/hike through The Blue Tier rainforest - return to Launceston. We provide most meals. Breakfast consists of cereals, fruit, toast and tea/coffee. Lunches vary from sandwiches to BBQs. Evening meals are prepared in camp ovens or on a barbeque (gas stoves are used in unfavourable weather). Vegetarian meals can easily be prepared on request. You will be amazed at the meals that can be prepared on an open campfire...a roast dinner or fresh damper bread! Experience Tasmanian gourmet foods such as local cheeses and fine wines. Fresh fruit and vegetables are available every day.

Children must be at least 12 years of age and accompanied by an adult. Reasonable level of fitness required - walks vary from 1 hour to 4 hours. Please advise us of any medical conditions and special dietary requirements. Please bring: warm and waterproof clothing (suitable for bush walking), sturdy walking shoes, swimming gear, sunscreen and a hat, water bottle, a warm sleeping bag. We have waterproof clothing and sleeping bags available for hire.

This active camping tour covers the remote West of Tasmania and departs from Launceston. Itinerary is as follows: Day 1: Pick-up from Launceston 6.30am, Mole Creek Caves, walk/hike at Cradle Mountain and settle at a remote bushcamp. Day 2: Bushwalk/hike in the Tarkine (Australia's largest temperate rainforest)and settle at a coastal camp beside the Southern Ocean. Day 3: Bushwalk to Montezuma Falls, Strahan, camp at Ocean Beach, Macquarie Heads. Day 4: Bushwalk at Lake St Clair, camp at remote Highland Lake. Our 5 hour tour lets you experience views of the Tamar Valley from Brady's lookout and see some amazing animals at Seahorse World and Platypus House. We then pass through wine grape growing areas , before visiting the Swiss Style village of “Grindelwald” and its shops and cafes.

Enjoy views of Launceston City on the way to Brady's lookout where the magnificence of the Tamar River Valley can be seen from a vantage point once used by the bushranger “Mathew Brady”. Traveling on through the rural town of Exeter, and gold mining town of Beaconsfield, to Beauty Point, where at Platypus House, we watch Tasmanian Platypuses and Echidnas in an indoor setting during a fully guided tour of the facility. You are guaranteed to see these spectacular egg laying mammals at close range actively feeding and playing in daylight conditions during the tour. Visitors are assured of many great photographic opportunities and lasting memories. Next, for a unique experience that is stimulating, different and fun, we visit Seahorse World to be escorted on an interpretation tour of the world's first Seahorse farm, where thousands of these creatures are available for viewing. An informative guide will tell you the history of this facility and introduce you to the live marine creatures in their touch tank. The tour passes by some of Tasmania's Northern vineyards and on to the unusual A-framed cable truss Batman Bridge that spans the Tamar River at Whirlpool Reach. After following the river to Gravelly Beach and Blackwall we visit the Swiss Style resort village of “Grindelwald” in its magnificent setting amid lakes and mountain views. Take time to wander among the village's variety of shops & cafe's selling crafts, souvenirs, gifts, hand made chocolates, ice cream and bakery products, before returning to Launceston. Lunch is not provided but there are opportunities to purchase food and drink during the tour.

Travel the East Tamar highway to the Bell Bay port area and visit the Mount George lookout for Spectacular views of historic Georgetown where Australia's third European settlement began in 1804. Also view the mouth of the Tamar River and Bass Strait, (weather permitting). Then on to Low Head at sunset to see the Penguin Parade during the first hour of darkness. You will see Penguins up close and personal in their natural environment. Professional guides will ensure your informative experience with these delightful little creatures, is something special to remember as you learn about their daily routine during a one hour walking tour of the rookery. Sturdy footwear, warm clothing and fast film suitable for low light condition is recommended. ( Camera flashlights distress the birds and are not permitted.) Video cameras can get good results using the diffused lighting provided by the guides. Treasure Island Coaches will pick you up at your accommodation in the Launceston area at a time arranged when making a booking (about one hour before sunset), and return you approximately 3-1/2 hours later.
